The Kansas City Wizards were a professional soccer team based in Kansas City, Missouri. They were founded in 1995 and played in Major League Soccer (MLS) until 2010, when they rebranded as Sporting Kansas City. During their time as the Wizards, they won the MLS Cup in 2000 and the U.S. Open Cup in 2004, 2012, and 2015. Their home stadium was originally Arrowhead Stadium, but in 2008 they opened a new soccer-specific venue named Children's Mercy Park. Some notable players who played for the Wizards include Preki, Eddie Johnson, Jimmy Conrad, and Davy Arnaud.
